- Happy Tails!ADOPTED before we could even them up!This month we tried 2 times to post up our adoptable of the month, 2 different sets of pups that both have found their fur-evers. We couldn't be happier!Check out the happy tail's of Donald & Daisy! They were featured at our adoption event, and there parents were not at that event, but they did find them at the Humane Society this past weekend. Needles to say, they went to their fur-ever this weekend from the Lake Humane Society We couldn't be happier for this dynamic duo!
Pharoh was fortunate to find his fur-ever at the Ganley Subaru East Adopt-a-Thon in the beginning of the month.
And last but not least! Chico He has been a store favorite that had been with the Lake Humane Society for a while, Chico was featured as our Adoptable of the Month in May. We are proud to say the Chico has his FUR-EVER home now!

- Shadow is a sweet 12-year-old Labrador Retriever mix who came to the shelter with her sister, Sissy, who herself is 12- year old Carin terrier mix, when their owner moved to a nursing home. Because they cannot imagine being separated, they must be adopted TOGETHER. These two girls are some of the sweetest pups you will ever meet! Sissy may be a bit shy at first, but once she gets to know you a little, she becomes very affectionate and just wants to be loved on. And Shadow is very friendly and views everyone as her best friend! - Hunk of Love!!Bruno is a gentle 4-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to the shelter because he became protective of his property toward the other dogs. When you first meet him, he may seem a bit intimidating because he will be barking to get out of the kennel. However, once he is out, he becomes very outgoing and affectionate. In the smart department, he is housebroken and, crate trained, and knows the commands sit, down and shake. Because he is quite strong and tends to pull when walking on a leash, a fenced-in yard would be ideal so he could run free and play. He would do well with children over the age of 6, as well as with dog-friendly feline siblings. He would also do o.k. with other dogs on neutral ground. - Big LoverChico is a handsome 5-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who came to the shelter because he was abandoned. He is very sweet and gentle, and enjoys being petted and loved on, at which time he will give lots of sloppy kisses! And when it's time to go away, he will happily jump into the car and be a calm passenger with good manners while enjoying the ride! Because he is very strong and can sometimes pull when on a leash, he would benefit from some obedience training. This adorable boy would do well with an active family with children over the age of 7, but because he prefers all of the attention, he must be the only four-footed member of the family. - Spunky Senior Alert!My name is Mack, and I'm a super-sweet 11-year-old Labrador mix. Even though I am a senior, I am very energetic and enjoy going on walks and playing (a fenced-in yard would be perfect so I could run free). I have excellent leash manners, am housebroken, and know the commands sit, stay, down and off. And when it's time to be loved on, I will be ready because I am very affectionate! I was recently adopted out of the shelter but was returned because my owners felt they could not properly care for me. I now need to find my furever home where I will be loved as a treasured member of the family. CUTENESS ALERT!!!
Rufus is a sweet, calm 10-year-old Labrador Retriever/Hound mix who came to the shelter with his brother, Spike a 4-year old Chihuahua, after their owner could no longer care for them.
Rufus is very sweet, calm and very affectionate, and just wants to be petted while cuddling close.
Spike can be quite timid at first, but after just a little time getting to know you, he becomes very affectionate and enjoys being held. Spike and Rufus love each other!
When they first arrived, Spike was shut down and wouldn't even come out of his cage until he saw his brother. Now, they share a kennel together to help ease the anxiety of being in a shelter. Although this is an odd pair, we would love nothing more than to see these two find their forever homes TOGETHER. After all, who would want to split up these two adorable guys?

Auggie is a 3-year-old Pit Bull Terrier/Boxer mix. He is a total goof ball with lots of love to give. Auggie definitely loves the spotlight and any person he meets will get drowned with love and kisses!! He would do best in a home with respectful children of any age. Since Auggie came to the shelter due to severe neglect, he would do well as the only furry child. Of course if a potential adopter has another dog we can schedule a dog to dog visit and see if Auggie will be a gentleman and the other dog would get along. He has come a long way with his physical therapy and has shown significant improvement. He still shows some right rear limb weakness, however with continued exercises, will keep improving. Auggie is ready to find his forever home with someone that will continue to help him improve. Auggie needs to find a person or family that will walk him on a daily basis and will commit to doing physical therapy exercises a couple times a week. If you feel you are the right fit for this energetic young man, our medical care staff will go over the exercises he needs in order to continue to progress.
